Caravelle VW (Volkswagen)
The modern-day Volkswagen Caravelle is one of Volkswagen’s biggest people movers and vans, quite similar to the well known Volkswagen Transporter. The main difference the Caravelle holds over the other Volkswagen panel van models like the Transporter or the Kombi van is its windows through the back panels. This makes it more of an un-traditional van, but it is a van nonetheless.
Under the bonnet, its mechanics include a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that produces 103kW and 340Nm of torque. The engine is connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Considering that it is a van, its fuel consumption is impressive, averaging 8.2L/100km.
Despite its van-like exterior, however, the Volkswagen Caravelle is comfortable and spacious inside with a well-equipped interior. It is very roomy and has various seat configurations to choose from with seven seats over three rows. If you are not transporting people, however, the back two rows of seats can be removed, transforming your Caravelle into a full-on van. This is part of what makes it stand out from the Volkswagen Transporter or Kombi Van, making it a popular multiuse vehicle.

Models of the Volkswagen Caravelle date back to its early beginnings in the 1950s as a nameplate of the Volkswagen Type 2, produced in Germany. In its early days, it was reminiscent of a bus with comfortable interiors like passenger cars. It entered Australian markets in 1979, with some specific models exclusive only to European markets.
